TKDMEETUP 2025 Meet The Speakers
Prof. Janusz Szopa, PhD, DSc, dr h.c. – Head of the Department of Sport and Tourism Management at the University of Physical Education in Katowice. Former dean, rector, and vice-rector at the Czestochowa University of Technology. A long-time lecturer and creator of academic programs in the fields of yoga, relaxation techniques, stress management, and kinesypsychoprophylaxis. He holds international teaching certificates in Iyengar and Sivananda yoga.
He is a co-organizer and lecturer in European and national programs focused on physical recreation, especially for older adults. For many years, he has cooperated with Indian universities and yoga institutes. He has trained approximately 1,000 recreational activity instructors in specialties such as hatha yoga, kinesypsychoprophylaxis, and psychophysical fitness. He is the head of the postgraduate studies „Relaxation and Yoga” at the University of Physical Education in Warsaw.
Author and co-author of three books, about 75 scientific publications on yoga and its role in health prevention, and around 120 publications in the fields of technical sciences and management. Co-founder of many organizations promoting yoga, including the Academic Yoga Association and the Polish Iyengar Yoga Association.
Sabum Roy Rolstad (VI DAN Taekwon-Do, VI DAN Hapkido) from Norway is a Taekwon-Do instructor actively involved in NTN (National Team Norway) — one of the largest and most well-organized Taekwon-Do structures in Europe, often cited as a model to follow. In Norway, ITF Taekwon-Do is one of the most widely practiced sports.
Roy is also the co-creator of the ITF Radix system, which offers a fresh perspective on traditional patterns by using familiar movements in real combat and self-defense scenarios.
During our last event, he inspired everyone with his workshop „Chon-Ji – A Complete Fighting System”. Participants were deeply impressed by the alternative applications of movements from well-known patterns. This year, we will continue the journey with ITF Radix to deepen our understanding and better inspire our students to practice patterns with greater awareness.
Sabum Łukasz Grygiel – the event organizer, president of the Extremis Foundation, dedicated to complementary development in the areas of the mind, body, and mindfulness. With 25 years in Taekwon-Do, he is the author of four books on Taekwon-Do techniques and mindset tactics, creator of the Black Belt Project.
Over the years, he has acquired knowledge in transpersonal coaching, meditation, mindfulness, Wim Hof’s breathing methods, and hypnotherapy. The methods he has learned aim to enable lasting positive change in significant areas of life. He is the author of the unique program The Fractal Change.
He will lead a Taekwon-Do meditation sessions and workshops related to effective methods of changing thinking patterns and eliminating limiting self-beliefs.

Sabum Artur Osuchowski VI DAN is one of Poland’s most passionate ITF Taekwon-Do practitioners. A former member of the Polish National Team and a two-time European Cup middleweight Champion, he brings both experience and dedication to the art. He is the president of KS Wojownik – one of the largest Taekwon-Do clubs in Poland.
Artur is the author of two books: Strong and Fit at Home and The Power of Discipline, where he shares his approach to physical training and building mental resilience. As a coach, he has mentored European Champions and World Cup medalists.
Beyond martial arts, he is a strong advocate of personal development, especially through the cultivation of healthy habits. His workshop at TKDMeetUp will focus on this very topic – how to build and maintain powerful routines that support both physical and mental growth.

We'll start with a strong opening — Master Rafał Poleszak will introduce the fundamentals of his Fast Response Self-Defense system. After the training, we'll wind down with a relaxation technique that will allow the body to enter a state of regeneration and the mind to settle into the present moment.

Emotions under control — defeat stress at its roots
Stress is not your enemy. It's a signal that somewhere inside you an old program is running — written into your body and emotions long before you learned to understand it. If you don't recognise it, you live on autopilot: reacting like a five-year-old in the body of a grown man.
You will learn to identify your emotions, understand where they come from, and — most importantly — consciously manage them instead of being driven by them. Because what you do always comes from what you feel.

After an intensive day of workshops, we’ll invite participants to relax in the sauna to support the body’s natural regeneration processes. The warmth helps to loosen muscles, detoxify the body, and calm the nervous system. It’s a perfect opportunity to slow down, take a deep breath, and integrate the day’s experiences in an atmosphere of peace and relaxation.

Jumbi Spirit and Self-Defense Techniques
A session with Sabum Roy Rolstad, who will expand our self-defense toolkit using techniques from Taekwon-Do, Hapkido, and BJJ, while also exploring a mental approach to dealing with life’s challenges. Through practical training and mindful reflection, we’ll learn how to respond with clarity, presence, and inner strength — both on and off the mat.
